In this day and age - especially with mortgages - a lot of correspondence and information is exchanged via email. However, just because someone sends something to you does NOT mean that you receive it.
Your email provider, say Gmail, might inadvertently think the message belongs in a SPAM or other folder and you miss important information. Good news is that you can teach your e-mail system to prioritize emails from specific senders such that you see the important stuff. This process is called E-Mail Filtering and the topic of this article.
To make sure you receive important emails from our office as it relates to a mortgage quest, please take a couple of minutes sitting at your PC to setup an e-mail filter (also called a rule), which would then file all emails received from us – now or in the future - to a folder that you will normally monitor and read, for example a primary inbox.
Click the link that applies for your email system: Outlook, Gmail, Hotmail, or Yahoo. If yours is not listed, visit www.Lifewire.com website for more or do your own Google search using the phrase How to create an email filter for Gmail (or Outlook, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc.)
Generally, how it works is you go into your email settings from your desktop or laptop computer (not mobile), find “settings”, then create a new filter or rule for all emails received. If an email contains the correct 'from" address it passes the filter and gets accepted to your designated folder (not spam!)
Set 'From' to equal: @RichardsMortgageGroup.ca
Next, you specify the action you want to take. For example, file it to the Primary folder (not Spam!).
Let us know if you have questions. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, as the saying goes!
